Outreach event

An outreach seminar (in italian) will conclude the workshop:
Un nuovo sguardo sull'Universo: la nascita dell'astronomia multimessaggero

The event will take place on Tuesday, 25 at 6 pm at the following location:
Collegio Universitario Don Nicola Mazza,
Via Savonarola, 176
35137 Padova

Department of Statistical Sciences, University of Padova
via Cesare Battisti 241, Padova, Italy

How to reach us

From Venice Marco Polo airport

Just outside the airport you can take a SITA bus that arrives at the bus station in p.le Stazione (railway) in Padova.
Otherwise you may reserve a shuttle bus that take you confortably to the hotel.

From the train station

The Santa Caterina's Campus is within walking distance of the train station and the Padua coach station.

Alternatively, public transport can be used; from the Railway you can choose:

line 3 towards Lion

line 12 towards Tencarola/Selvazzano

line 16 towards Ponte San Nicolò

Tram line in the direction of Capolinea Sud - get off at the Riviera Ponti Romani stop, cross the road, take via Cesare Battisti and continue until number 241/243 (left side)

From the highway

We recommend going out at Padova Ovest, park at the park in via Sarpi (P1 - ex Canova parking), take the Diretto Ospedale minibus, get off at the last stop in via Falloppio, continue until the traffic light, turn right into via Ospedale Civile, proceed to the second lateral right that is via Cesare Battisti, reach numbers 241/243 (right side).

Please find below a list of Hotels and B&B. All the hotels are within walking distance of the conference venue. Partecipants to the event are kindly invited to organize their accommodation during the workshop. When booking, mention "University of Padova, Department of Statistical Sciences".

Bed and breakfast

Workshop participation is free of charge. To allow for a better organization, we kindly ask you to register by filling this form by September 2, 2018.

Registration Closed

All the participants are welcome to submit a poster to the workshop. Contributions inherent to the use of statistical models and learning methods in the physics field, as well general contributions in statistics of interest in physics will be considered. An oral speed session to present the main results of the contribution will precede the poster session.
PhD students and young researchers are especially invited to submit their work to the conference.
The deadline for poster submission is September 2, 2018.
